Dear friends,

This is to welcome new members of this mailing list aboard. We have 12
subscribers so far. I received information from some people about
difficulties in signing up (everyone is not quite used to subscribing to a
listserv), so perhaps I will have to send out a reminder mail to other,
usually active members, about how to sign up.

If you wish to find out who is on the list so far, please send mail to
majordomo@cinenet.net with only a message in the body of the mail,
stating:

	who india_policy@cinenet.net

That way you will know which of your friends were unable to sign up so
far, and you might like to send them a personal mail describing the
procedure of signup to them personally. I know for sure that we should
have a larger group of active subscribers, based on the participation of
friends in earlier sub-groups. 

I am waiting for about 20 signups before we re-commence the discussions
which were broken up during the last week while the listserv was being
established.

Thanks, and welcome aboard to this purposive, focused, discussion group
whose immediate goal is to work out a manifesto and agenda for an ideal
political party for India, if ever we were to have one such party.
