Proposed Preamble to the Manifesto
Hi,
The following preamble to the proposed "ideal" Manifesto is being
proposed. This has been designed to a) summarize the belief systems which
lead to wealth and power in this world, to b) eliminate the causes of
social hatred and dissent in India and c) to set the stage for the
detailed policies proposed earlier by Utkarsh and others.
The material is open to debate, as usual. Before such a thing is
"adopted," it will require many refinements, many discussions.
Innate equality among all peoples everywhere
============================================
That all men were created equal in an essential way.
No genetic change took place in the Western races in the past
200 years, causing their incomes to shoot to over 20 times
that of India. God did not also declare a special bonus to the
West. Basic, important implication: Indians are therefore
genetically equal to the best in the West. This equality is not
responsible for the economic inequality. There is something
else that makes India scrape the bottom of the barrel of the
world.
Liberty and mutual respect
==========================
That human rights and liberty are more precious than wealth.
That we may differ from our brothers in the way of achieving
the goals, but we shall respect all dissenters and hear them
out, in full, carefully understanding their argument. We shall
either be able to persuade them, or be persuaded by them.
That we believe in democracy, both conceptually, and
practically in the way it is defined in the Indian Constitution.
Dictatorship is the worst enemy of the people.
That religion is a purely personal matter never to be brought
into the area of poltical discourse, and no religion is supreme
nor worth fighting about. All religions are to be fully respected.
Belief in self
==============
That each human life counts, or can count, if one makes it
count. We can choose to take up a menial role in life (of being
the "orderlies" of corrupt and venal "leaders") or a courageous
role in life, standing up for what one believes in.
That India has a destiny to fulfil; a role to play on the stage of
the world. That role is not small. But it has to be earned
through money and technological superiority. Nobody is
waiting to gift us this role, for free.
That Indians shall be not merely considered as spiritual
curiosities but feared and respected as the leaders of the
world. We shall make this happen. At the moment the world
perhaps chuckles to hears such "tall claims." And rightly so.
But it is within our capacity to get the respect we think we
deserve.
Work ethic, capitalism and competition
======================================
That the only way to get rid of poverty is to make everyone
rich.
That the only way to get rich is to study hard, to work hard,
and to compete in the production of the best goods in the
world. To breathe competition, to face competition and to win
in competition.
That communism and socialism are defective in their
fundamental understanding of human motivation and incentives
and hence people have to be persuaded to throw these fake
theories of Marx and his failed cronies, out of India. Even
Germany and Britain (nations associated with Marx) cared not
for this fake intellectualism of Marx. They why do some of us
run futilely down a blind alleyway which has brought ruin to
each peoples who embraced these theories?
That "pure" capitalism is not perfect, either. There is a role for
government. But that role is very, very small. There is much to
be said in favour of an intelligent, small government, applying
strong economic incentives to get the best results out of the
people.
