MP's salary hike

The members of India's parliament have once again given themselves a 
raise yesterday. Interestingly, this was one bill that was passed 
literally in seconds, with just a voice vote, and not even the 
omni-vociferous Left disagreed. This, at a time when there are much more 
legitimate demands for salary hikes by i)the College and University 
teachers all over the country ii) the postal workers iii) all the school 
teachers of UP (schools have been closed there since the summer 
holidays), etc. etc.
Goldmine, eh! Our MPs are all Gandhians, Left included, at least in one 
respect.
