Re: Why India should be Secular

Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!

Sam Garg: " My objective is to make India a strong, prosperous, tolerant
and just
nation where a flawed constitution is not used to subjugate
the majority to benefit an intolerant minority"
A sweeping but vague indictment of the constitution. Since you use this line
often, for our edification, could you detail it?
My guess is that the flaws that you are refering to are:
1) Lack of UCC, Thus encouragement of "Divine" personal law.
2) Subsidies for pilgrimages.
3) Protection of religious real estate (even if constructed over structures
of other religions).
4) No ban on proselytization.
Are there more benefits and|or subjugations enshrined in the constitution
that you perceive the majority of Indians to perceive? (I am hoplessly
unfamiliar with our constitution)
What other modifications in the system do you think will bring about lasting
communal harmony?
Or you think things will just not getter better until everyone dukes it out
a la clash of civillizations.
Or are you not going there and are mostly interested in presenting amateur
Indologist observations?
